An Evening at The W Hotel With Oliver B | Events

A couple of weeks ago now, I headed down to London for an evening of magic with Oliver B and a few bloggers. We met outside The W Hotel, Leicester Square (A hotel that I’ve walked past many a time but until this day had never set foot in) and headed up to their picturesque Wyld Bar to meet Oliver and begin the evening. We met him in the Wyld Bar – a gorgeous bar which was buzzing – it was very busy for a Tuesday night! It was beautiful, with ceilings laden with disco balls and mirrors everywhere (I know I was there to see Oliver perform but I couldn’t help but notice how beautiful the location was!)

If you haven’t heard of Oliver B, let me tell you a bit about him. He’s a London-based magician, trained by none other than Dynamo and available to book for parties, weddings and more. If you watch his showreel on his website (Link here) then you’ll see that he’s performed magic on many celebrities – such as Ed Sheeran,  Keith Lemon, JLS and Cara Delevingne (Brb, crying!). He pretty much has something for everyone and has performed for hundreds of different people. I personally thought he was incredible – I’ve only seen a few magicians in my time (many of them being at parties when I was younger) but I was honestly blown away by his magic – just how does he do it?! I particularly liked his mind-reading skills – that’s what got me, I guess you can learn card tricks but how is mind-reading possible?

We sampled some of The Wyld’s gorgeous cocktails – these were gorgeous (I just wish I could remember the names of them!)

Card were widely used throughout (of course!)

Magical entertainment in magical surroundings – it was very busy in the Wyld Bar for a Tuesday night!

Me with Oliver B himself!

I had a really lovely evening and I also met some other bloggers too – Emma Inks from EmmaInks, Ronke from WhosForDinner and of course Claire from ClaireLouise, who kindly invited me along! They were all lovely, as were their friends that they brought along with them – I just wish I got the chance to chat with them all a bit more as I felt I was very quiet that evening (blame the post-work tiredness I had!)

You can find out more about Oliver online at his website, www.oliverbmagic.com. Or alternatively you can tweet him at @OliverBMagic or Like him on Facebook: Oliver B Magic (I’ve linked to both pages).
